Buying a Home

Let us guide you through this exciting process.

Credit is Power

Know your credit score. This step is often overlooked but is a large part of buying a home. Your credit score can affect the type of loan you qualify for and your interest rate.  Also, knowing your credit score ahead of time can give you the time needed to raise your overall score by a few points. Just a few points can change how much you qualify for and can change your buying power! If you need to work on your credit, reach out and I will connect you with one of my lenders who can get you on a plan to raise your score.

Know Your Money

First, figure out what you can afford. Look at your savings, income, and debts. This helps set a budget for your home. Use a Mortgage calculator to estimate your future payments.

     Knowledge is Power

Research loan types such as conventional UDFA, VA, and FHA. Getting pre-approved and understanding your loan type and what requirements the home and loan require will give you a competitive edge.                                                                                                Research neighborhoods - Understand what you are looking for; do you want to live in the city or more rural? Some loan types may require you to live in rural areas or have acreage requirements.                                                                                                                        If you have not already found a Real Estate Agent, this may be a good time to start interviewing a few. They should already be familiar with these loan types. Ask them questions, even talk to a few. They should be knowledgeable about your loan type and the market conditions of the areas you're interested in.
